BREATHABLE
Healthy and Liveable homes are not a luxury but a fundamental right of occupants. A Building Biology approach focuses on creating breathable structures that improve air quality and create healthy homes. Breathable construction reacts to the occupants use through absorption and release of excess water vapour reducing mould risk whilst we also look to decrease drafts and unwanted heat loss through improved air tightness.
SUSTAINABLE
More than just a buzz word. Sustainability and low energy performance are inherent in our designs. The Fabric First approach is used to define the lifetime energy consumption of any design. A focus on natural materials such as hemp and straw enable Carbon sequestration and create Carbon Zero buildings whilst also offering excellent thermal qualities and a Landscape led approach aims to integrate designs into their local environment and promotes biodiversity.
TRADITIONAL
Many of the best Eco-Build options are born out of a greater understanding and applied use of traditional building methods. We take inspiration from these methods but apply them to the latest details and demands of a modern home, particularly in the use of natural materials.
Natural materials are ideal for use in Traditional Building restoration alongside more traditional materials such as lime and clay that maintain the integrity of older constructions without compromising on environmental or thermal performance.
